Lesson 5 Shri Ganesha Puja (Part 9, the Shri Ganesha Gayatri and Shri Ganesha Meditation mantra focusing the mind on the form and granduer of Lord Ganesh)

Shri Ganesha Gayatri:

say the following mantra out loud once: 

om ekadantaya vidmahe

vakratundaya dhimahi

tanno dantih prachodayat

OM EH KA DAWN TIE YA VEED MA HAY

VA KRA TOON DIE YA DHEE MA HEE

TAWN NO DAWN TEEH PRA CHO DIE YACHT

we salute you and meditate upon you who has a single tusk

we meditate upon you with the curved trunk

may you with the single tusk guide us upon auspicious paths

offer a flower to lord Ganesh and say the following mantra:

ete gandhapushpe om gam ganapataye namah

EH TAY, GAWND HA PUSH PAY, OM, GUM GAWN A POT EYE YAY NA MAH

With this offering of a flower we salute and bow to Lord Ganapati lord of multitudes Lord of the path.

Shri Ganesha meditation mantra: ( this meditation mantra is designed to fill your consciousness with the glory of Lord Ganesh, for his image to take form in the consciousness mind!  Envision Ganesh existing not only with in you, but in all that is was and shall be, imagine that you are his student and seated with him in meditation, with in the consciousness mind.)

Say the following mantra out loud one time: 

Om kharvvam sthulatanum gajendravadanam lambodaram sundaram

prasyandanmadagandhalubdhamadhupavya lolagan dasthalam

dantaghatavidaritarirudhiraih sindu rashobhakaram vande

shailasutasutam ganapatim siddhirpradam kamadam

OM KA HARV VUM, STU LAWT AH NUM, GA JEN DRA VA DA NAM,  LAWM BO DA RUM, SOON DA RUM, PRAS YAWN DAWN MA DA GAWND HA LOOB DHA MOD WHO PAWV YA LO LOG ON, DA STA LAWM DAWN TA GHA TA VEE DA REE TA REE ROOD HEE RYE, SEEN DOO, RA SHO BHA KA RAM, VON DAY,  SHY LA SOO TA SOO TUM, GAWN A POT EEM, SEE DHEE PRA DUM, KA MA DUM

We salute Ganesh, Lord of wisdom, who’s form is short and stocky with the face of a king! the face of an elephant, with a big belly and extremely beautiful. From him pours forth the divine ethereal force, the sweet fragrance of which has attracted with love the bumble bees swarming about his loving face. With the mighty blows from his sharpened tusks he pierces and destroys all enemies, removing obstacles. He is a brilliant red in color smeared with the sacred vermillion powder.  We bow and praise the son of the daughter of the sacred mountains(Himalayas) the lord of multitudes Lord of the path gate he who gives that which we desire…

Om gam ganapataye namah

OM GUM GAWN A POT EYE YAY NA MAH

We salute and bow to lord Ganapati lord of wisdom, lord of multitudes, lord of the path gate!
